River City Improv Celebrates 15 Years of Laughs.
River City Improv (RCI)
will celebrate 15 years of performances with a special show on Saturday,
March 14, 2009 at 7:33 PM at the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship,
2300 Plymouth Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI.
The show will also celebrate
25 years of the Calvin College Student Improv team. The student
team will perform a short set prior to RCI taking the stage. The
show is also part of Calvin College's year-long celebration of 75
years of theatre at Calvin.
River City Improv held its
first public performance in 1994 after being founded by two Calvin College
graduates, Rick Treur and Jeanne Leep. Since 1994 the team has consistently
offered public performances in Grand Rapids and has been hired to perform
for churches, corporations, schools, non-profit organizations and other
groups all over the country. The team has performed over 1000
times in its 15 years.
River City Improv regularly
performs at the Ladies Literary Club in downtown Grand Rapids.
